Hello! I'm Lindsey.
I am a proud Air Force wife to my best friend and the most wonderful man in the world. Last year we packed up and moved half way across the country (Florida to Oklahoma is quite a change...) from the only life I had ever known. We have fallen in love with the adventure and discovery of our transient life and are always looking for new thing to explore! (I do, however, very much miss the ocean...)
I am mother to my crazy fuzzy babies: two Siamese cats, Slinky & Flopsy and Siberian Husky, Loki. They are my biggest helpers (ie: distractions). They keep me busy and make me laugh. I am a firm believer that a home is just not a home without something fluffy and cuddly :)
I studied art at Flagler College in beautiful and historic St. Augustine, Florida. Back then, paint and printmaking were my loves and mediums of choice. After graduating, I discovered the world of jewelry working with a dear family friend and professional silversmith. It was as if I was born anew with all the wonder and excitement of discovering a new medium! When we moved to Oklahoma, I enrolled in a few jewelry and metalsmithing classes at the University of Central Oklahoma while I worked part time at a family owned jewelry store. I learned so much from some truly wonderful people, and in August of 2012 I decided to take the plunge! Thus, Sunnyshine Studios was born!
Each of my jewelry pieces is one of a kind. I find myself very inspired by nature; the push and pull relationship between organic and and geometric forms and also how color informs and plays into those relationships. The majority of my work for Sunnyshine Studios continues to be jewelry, but I still love exploring and learning about other mediums. I am an all around crafter and DIYer and just generally love making things with my hands! I also love collaboration-so if you have an idea for a custom piece please feel free to contact me!
